Eligibility Criteria of ONGC Apprentice Recruitment
Age Limit: Age of the candidates must be minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 29.11.2026, i.e. the Date of Birth of the Candidate/Applicant should be between 29.11.2002 and 29.11.2008.

ONGC Apprentice Selection Process
The selection of apprentices in ONGC will be based on merit, eligibility and document verification. The selection process is expected to follow these steps:
1. Collection of Applications: After the application deadline, ONGC will download and consolidate applications received through the NAPS and NATS portals. Applications will be organized according to trade, qualification and work centre.
2. Eligibility Verification: Applications will be checked to ensure candidates meet the prescribed educational qualifications, age limits and other eligibility conditions. Incomplete, duplicate or ineligible applications may be rejected.
3. Preparation of Merit List: A provisional merit list will be prepared separately for each trade and work centre based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination. In case of a tie, the older candidate will be given preference.
4. Shortlisting for Document Verification: Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification based on their merit position and the number of available seats. The shortlisted candidates will be notified through the official ONGC website or registered email.
5. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce their original certificates and other required documents along with self-attested copies. Any false information, discrepancy or failure to produce the necessary documents may lead to cancellation of candidature.
6. Final Merit List: After document verification, ONGC will prepare the final merit list based on eligibility, marks, available vacancies, reservation rules and applicable tie-breaking criteria.
7. Reservation Policy: Reservation of apprenticeship seats will be provided as per applicable Government of India rules and the conditions mentioned in the official notification. Relevant category certificates will also be verified.
8. Declaration of Results: The final list of selected candidates will be published on the ONGC official website and/or communicated through their registered email addresses. Candidates should regularly check for updates.
9. Offer of Engagement: Selected candidates must complete the required joining formalities within the specified time. This may include submitting necessary declarations, accepting the offer and completing registration or contract formalities through the NAPS/NATS portals.
10. Filling of Vacant Seats: If a selected candidate declines the offer, fails to report or does not complete the required formalities, ONGC may cancel the candidature and offer the vacant seat to the next eligible candidate in order of merit, subject to applicable rules.
Note: Shortlisting for document verification does not guarantee final selection or engagement as an apprentice. Final engagement will depend on successful document verification and fulfilment of all prescribed conditions.
