Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) has released an employment notification for the recruitment of 10 Junior Engineer (Trainee) Posts in the Infrastructure Planning and Management (IPM) Section at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Three-year Diploma holders in respective branch of engineering can apply online by 08th June 2026.

IIT Guwahati Recruitment Details

Name of post: Junior Engineer (Trainee)

No of posts: 10 posts

Discipline wise Vacancy:

Civil Engineering: 07 Nos.;
Electrical Engineering: 02 Nos.;
Mechanical Engineering: 01 No.

Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs. 25,000 (Rupees twenty-five thousand only) per month will be paid during the contract period. Free hostel accommodation may be provided, subject to availability.

Eligibility Criteria

Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification:

Three-year Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
Minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA.
Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience.
Candidates possessing higher qualifications such as B.E./B. Tech are not eligible.

Experience (Discipline-wise):

Junior Engineer (Trainee) – Civil Engineering: Field experience in Building maintenance, Preparation of technical estimates, Tender preparation, Concrete works and Other site-related civil engineering activities.
Junior Engineer (Trainee) – Electrical Engineering: Experience in HT/LT substation maintenance, DG (Diesel Generator) maintenance.
Junior Engineer (Trainee) – Mechanical Engineering: Experience in the maintenance of air conditioning systems.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit of the candidate should be 28 years on the last date of receipt of the application.
