Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) has released the official notification of Assam Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (JLEE) 2026. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online within stipulated time frame as fixed by ASTU.
 
Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (JLEE) is basically an entrance exam, each year conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) for admission to 3rd semester of B.Tech programme for that specific academic session . So, JLEE is the gateway for admission to the 4 year B.Tech. courses under Engineering Colleges in Assam for diploma holders through lateral entry scheme.

Eligibility Criteria of JLEE Examination


Resident-ship: The Candidate must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent resident of Assam (with a valid PRC of Assam issued by the competent authority).

Note: candidates who do not have a Permanent Resident Certificate of Assam, on the day of reporting will be given a 30-day time period from the date of reporting to submit the PRC. An undertaking will be taken from the candidate mentioning that failing to submit the PRC after this, his/her seat will be forfeited.
 
Character: The Candidate must possess a good moral character.

Physical Fitness: The Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.

Educational Qualification:


Candidates must have a Recognized Diploma of Minimum of 3 years duration from any Polytechnic Institution of Assam under the following:
  • State Council of Technical Education(SCTE), Assam.
  • Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Guwahati, Assam.
  • Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar.
  • Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar.
Note: A minimum of Overall 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) must be scored in the Polytechnic Course.

Final Year Students': 
Candidates appearing in their final semester examination may also apply but they must have to produce their Original Grade Report/ Mark Sheet of the Diploma Programme on the day of Admission.

Application Fee of Assam JLEE Exam 2026

 
  • An Application Fee of Rs. 2000/- (Two thousand only) is to be paid online by using SBI Collect which facilitates payment through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
  • Examination fee, once paid, is not refundable.
  • Candidates must make successful online fee payment within the last date of submission of online applications. Otherwise his/her candidature will not be considered for examination.
  • No communication regarding failure of payment, received after the last date of submission of online applications, will be entertained.
 

How to Apply for Assam JLEE Exam?


Interested and eligible candidates may apply online by visiting ASTU Official JLEE Application Portal. Candidates may follow below mentioned steps to apply for this admission process.

  • Scroll down, go to Important Web-Links section .
  • Click on the "Online Application Form" link and complete the registration process by clicking "New Registration".
  • In the next stage, click on "Online Application Form" Link and Login.
  • Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents.
  • Make payment of application fee as per your category and submit the form.
  • At the end, take a print out of the application form . 
 

Important Dates of Assam JLEE Exam 2026


  • Starting date of submission of online applications: 11th May 2026
  • Last Date for submission of online applications: 19th May 2026
  • Issue of online admit cards: 17th June 2026 onwards
  • Date and timing of examination: 21st June 2026, 11 AM to 2 PM 
  • Declaration of results: Within 15 days of conduct of examination
