Assam Special TET 2026
Govt. of Assam has released the official notification of Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2026 for Lower Primary and Upper Primary level for the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar medium as per the guidelines laid down by NCTE. Interested and eligible candidates having having permanent residence of Assam may appear in Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper II (Upper Primary) of Special TET-2026.
The qualified candidates of the Special Assam TET-2026 will be eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the teacher post of elementary level schools provided they have other academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms.

Duration of exam: 2 Hours 30 Minutes for each Paper. An additional 20 minutes time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.

Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
No of questions: 150 MCQs for each Paper.
Negative marking: There is no negative marking .
Medium of exam: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo and English
Validity of TET certificate: TET Certificate has a lifetime validity.
Qualifying marks: A candidate is required to score 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ ST (Plain)/ OBC/MOBC/ PWD (PH), there will be a relaxation of 5%. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55%.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam TET
Residentship: Candidate must be a permanent resident of the State of Assam.
Educational Qualification: Candidate must have minimum academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms as follows:
Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)
# Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
# Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El.Ed.)
OR
# Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
# Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)
# Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
# At least 50% marks in Graduation and B. Ed.
OR
# At least 55% marks in Post Graduation or equivalent grade and three year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. OR
# Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
OR
# Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or
B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR
# Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)
Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29 July, 2011.
Relaxation: Relaxation up to 5% in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation shall be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) to appear in Special Assam TET- 2026 (The degree of handicap in case of PH candidates should be minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent authority) both for Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level).
Examination Fee of Assam Special TET
Candidates need to pay a specific amount of money as examination fee to complete the online application process. Examination fee needs to paid online. Details regarding this are provided below-
