1. Project Officer- Conservation Education
No of posts: 1
Pay: No bar for deserving candidates.
Education Qualification: Post-graduate degree in Environmental Science, Social Work, Mass Communication, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Education, Psychology, Developmental Studies and/or related disciplines, or equivalent practical experience. Understanding of, and experience in, operationalization of community-based projects specially mobilizing/sensitizing indigenous communities.
Experience: Experience in Conservation Education/training/ social behaviour change/community educator. Basic knowledge/hands on expertise on Google Earth or other GIS tools.
2. Project Officer- Livelihood
No of posts: 1
Education Qualification: Post-graduate degree in Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Geography, Extension Education (Agri. and allied discipline), Developmental Studies and/or related disciplines,or equivalent practical experience. Understanding of, and experience in, operationalization of community-based projects. Knowledge of environmental issues and how they integrate with livelihoods and rural development issues. Questionnaire based survey, run Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) in villages using the tool of timeline, seasonality, dependency analysis, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with various stakeholders. Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills in a social science framework and an ability to develop new processes and approaches. Basic knowledge/hands on expertise on Google Earth or other GIS tools. Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders including non-governmental organisations, academic, government stakeholders and individuals with various levels of skill. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Assamese. Excellent report writing skills. Ability to work independently but also an excellent team player. Ability to organise public meeting events. Ability to drive motorcycles or four wheels.
Experience: Experience of living and working in rural areas and in collaboration with local communities.
